  • Distance: Approx. 24-26 km (about 16.6 miles)

  • Difficulty: Moderate

  • Time: 5.5 -7hours

  • Terrain: The route is large open, treeless fields, mostly flat but largely exposed. It is a scenic stage that follows the Canal de Castilla, passes through the town of Frómista—famous for the San Martin church.

  • Alterate Transportation: Bus and taxi

  • Alternate Route: After Poplación de Campos is an alternate river route. Follow the signs that say Sendero del Rio Ucieza.

• Food, Water & Stops

  • Fromista; near to the main road entering Fromista, is a cute little cafe for breakfast and a good place to stock up. It very close to the trail.

  • Población de Campos: café, grocery store, there is a wonderful Hotel Casa Rural Amanecer en Campos.if you want to stay for the night.

  • Revenga de Campos : Café

  • Villarmentero de Campos: cafés

  • Villalcázar de Sirga: cafe and grocery store

• Tips for Future Pilgrims

  • Take the river route outside of Población del Campos

  • .Many Pilgrims slip the  Meseta and then extend the Camino to Finisterre

Late evening in the town square, parents chatted while their children ran around playing something that looked like tag. No phones in sight — not one. These kids were playing entirely on their own, with no screens involved. It brought back memories of my own childhood and made me think about how much technology has changed things for kids back home. — That Eva
