I’m in the Meseta in late April. It’s hot, and I can’t imagine hiking this section of the Camino in summer weather.

Distance: Approximately 31.8 km. ( 19.2 miles)
Difficulty: 2 out of 5
Time: 7.5-8 hours
Terrain: Very flat and exposed with almost no shade or natural shelter.
Alternate Transportation: bus and taxi

Albergue Laganares:16€. must stay wonderful Italian Albergue.
Special Note: There are bus stops at every town through this route.
Personal recommendation: This albergue was the only one opened when I stayed the night.
Nearby essentials:This is a very small hamlet. You may be able to eat at the Albergues. There is another cafe at the entrance of town, but it was not open when I was there.

The route passes the ruins of the Abbey of Benevívere before reaching Calzadilla de la Cueza
The route is isolated. It's very open and I did not see any pilgrims the entire day.
Eat at Casa Barrunta on the right as you come into town
There are bus stops at every town from Carrión de los Condes to San Nicholas del Real Caminos

The albergue tonight had that loose, bohemian energy I keep gravitating toward. Once again, I chose to walk alone — not from a need for solitude, but because being alone is when I actually notice things. I felt peaceful. Somewhere along this dirt path, I let go of the sense of "hurry" I had been carrying before the Camino. - That Eva!
