  • Distance: ~20.8 to 22.9 km (13 to 14 miles)

  • Difficulty: Medium-High due to initial climbs and rolling descents

  • Terrain:moderate-to-challenging 20.8 km (13-14 mile) mountain stage featuring rolling ridges, stone paths, and a long final descent. Drops down to a lush valley.

• Tips for Future Pilgrims

  • Make sure you have plenty of water and snacks.

  • The hike to Triacastella is beautiful.  You're in Galicia, which is known for its rainy, humid weather.

  • This was the first time I had to wear my rain gear. If this is your first time hiking, this is where you will find out if you’re a rain jacket or poncho hiker.

  • Be prepared for crowds. You'll notice the Camino gets more crowded as you get nearer to Sarria.

JOURNAL

I’m over halfway there — closer to Santiago with every step. It's been over a month on the Camino, and it still surprises me how quickly the time has passed. I've slowed down on purpose because I don't want to miss anything. I want to savor every moment I have left out here. -That Eva!
