Camino Francés Elevation

You will walk through several villages today and hike through lush green hills.

  • Distance: Approx. 21–23 km

  • Time: 5.5–7.5 hours walking time

  • Difficulty: Moderate, with steady ups and downs.

  • Terrain: rolling hills, open fields of vineyard paths, olive groves

  • Alternative transportation: available bus and taxi to the next stage.

• Food, Water & Stops

  • There are four towns on the route: Maneru, Cirauqui, Lorca, and Villatuarta all offer water, cafés, stores, and bus stops.

  • Carry enough water (at least 1.5–2L).

  • Cafés/bars: Cirauqui and Lorca have fountains and cafés.

• Where to Stay in Estella

  • Agora Hostel 18-20€ (Recommended- they have pods), great location.

  • Agora Hostel private room 70€

• Tips for Future Pilgrims

  • Plan ahead—bring water.

  • There is very little shade. Most of the day is spent climbing treeless hills and fields.

  • Use a wide-brimmed hat

  • This is a great town for a rest day.

JOURNAL

Today was an easy day on the trail. I met up with many pilgrims I hadn't seen since the first day of the Camino. Estella is a very pretty town -a place to visit again. I'm starting to get comfortable with the everyday routine — hike, shower, do my laundry, have dinner, and go to bed. By the way, you will eat more naplolitanas de chocolate, bocadillos, and eggs than you have had in the past ten years. -That Eva!
